When you are selling your home it’s important to understand the cost of renovating. A new kitchen can cost anywhere from $30,000 on the low end (new cabinets, perhaps IKEA or big box store, flooring, quartz countertops, mid range appliances, nothing custom) to $150,000++ with custom cabinetry, high end appliances, extraordinary countertop and backsplash and flooring. It will all depend on the size of the kitchen, amount of work, and amount of custom finishes.
Should you do that work if you are selling your home? Personally I don’t think so. Unless you are an experienced flipper you will not get your money out. What you choose is likely not what the person who ends up purchasing the home will want.
