Have you ever wondered why some people need everything labeled and color-coded… while others are just happy if stuff gets tossed in a bin? In The Clutter Connection, organizing expert (and YouTube fave) Cassandra Aarssen breaks it all down — and it actually makes sense.
Visual vs Hidden Storage and Detail vs Big Picture
Cas states that there are 4 different personality types based on hidden vs visual organization and detailed vs big picture organization systems. The 4 organizing personality types are Butterfly, Cricket, Ladybug, and Bee. (I’m a cricket).
She starts off the book with a quiz for you to determine your type and then has chapters that go into detail on how different methods of organizing and creating systems will work for each personality type. This methodology shows you which organization system works best for you. It also helps you understand how others work and which organization systems will work best for them.
I especially enjoyed the examples and stories Cas shared.
Do you or your family struggle with organizing?
If so, this book is a great read. Understanding each other’s way of looking at organization (and mess) will go a long way to reducing friction and frustration.
